Seeking Full Time Accountant

Financial firm is seeking full time qualified Accountant for busy office. Ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background with at least five years experience. Must be able to handle busy executives with tact and work well under deadline. Accountant will:

1) Assist CFO with month end close, profit/loss statements and cost accounting reports
2) Maintain accurate general ledger
3) Analyze and review department budgets and cost expenditures
4) Gather and process time sheets and expense reports
5) Process payroll and oversee disbursement of pay cheques
6) Perform bank reconciliation
7) Develop annual operating budget in conjunction with departmental managers and supervisors
8) Assist financial department managers with fiscal planning, salary recommendations and other administrative duties as necessary
9) Prepare annual reports to stockholders
10) Update upper management regularly on status
11) Schedule and conduct weekly meetings with under staff to ensure appropriate guidelines are being met
12) Adequately explain billing policies and procedures to staff, vendors and clients
13) Monitor and review accounting reports to maintain completeness and accuracy
14) Must have working familiarity with accounting and financial data bases and be able to recommend process improvements, maintain data base and utilize all functionality as an integral part of this position

Skill Requirements:
1. Must have knowledge of finance, budgeting and cost control procedures and practices
2. Must be familiar with general accounting principles
3. Ability to accurately analyze financial data and prepare reports, statements and projections
4. Have working familiarity with benefits packages
5. Must have degrees and certifications commensurate with skill level and requirements

Candidate will interface directly with CFO to coordinate reports data, ensure smooth data flow between departments and resolve discrepancies. Must have at least five years experience in multi-person office and be comfortable with executives at all levels of business. Must possess exemplary communication skills, both written and oral, and have experience working with various accounting software packages. To be considered for this position, applicant must have all relevant skills and degrees. Prefer someone who is continuing their accounting education and is willing to move to the next level. Work environment is standard office; candidate must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. Position includes competitive salary and benefits, paid time off yearly, and assistance with continuing education.
