The online used-car market is huge, and thanks to Mr
Gordon Brown clean, reliable late model motors have never been so
affordable with many car dealers feeling the pinch and having to
reduce prices drastically. What type of car are you looking for?
Many people swear by the reliability of the German marques such as
BMW, Mercedes and Audi and certainly these makes tend to hold their
prices very well. Some people's choices are affected by nostalgia so
they prefer vehicles which were once manufactured in Britain, such
as Rover, Land Rover, Mini, Vauxhall, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and MG.
Others feel that French cars are more stylish, such as Citroen and
Peugeot; I once owned a Peugeot 405 diesel engined saloon and
stylish it most certainly was not, but it was probably the most
reliable car I have ever owned. American cars such as Chevrolet,
Dodge and Chrysler, have their supporters and cars from the far
north such as Volvo, Saab and Skoda are certainly very surefooted in
poor weather conditions. For sheer value for money it is difficult
to beat the cars from the far east, such as Hyundai, Mazda,
Mitsubishi, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota and Daihatsu; whilst those
old favourites Ford and Fiat are always amongst the best sellers.
Many dealers offer long-term guarantees and warranties whether you
are looking far a petrol or diesel engine, manual or automatic
gearbox, sports car, saloon, hatchback or estate car, or perhaps a
soft top, hard top or a roadster.
